My Brother printer at work worked just fine with the generic cartridges until it forced a firmware update on me and now it will only use Brother brand ink cartridges. frickers.

None of them are worth it. Just go to the library and pay $0.15 a page or whatever, can email it or bring usb drive and it goes quick.

cartridges+drying up from no use etc. unless you are printing daily it’s worth letting someone else own the printer

you shouldve spent an extra $150 on the front end and bought an epson ecotank.

I bought one for my wife because we have 3 printers at work she can use. The ecotanks take absolutely forever to print color, she dog cusses me anytime she has to use it. Outside of that it works well and she needs it maybe once a month, so I don’t really care. But there’s a honest review.

I usually recommend people in the market for a new printer to just pony up the extra $$$ for a good laser printer(whether B&W, or color). As long as you don’t need super-super picture-quality, IMO they are superior and last longer.

Love mine.

Glad my 5 year old $35 Canon printer still works. Cartridges are $20-25 for the large aftermarkets.

I hate printers with a passion. We have one that won’t let me print in black only if it’s out of Cyan or another color. Drives me nuts. And somehow the colors get low even when I don’t use them. Unless I don’t understand the technology and printing in black uses all the colors. But that’s just stupid.

Bought a hp about 14 months ago and signed up for the monitored refill at 10 bucks a month and after 12 months did not have enough usage to install the first replacement. Wife contacted hp to back out of the monthly charge and just buy hp cartridges as needed.
The hp replacement cartridge did not work giving off error messages. Wife spent 4 hours with the hp service dude on the telephone to find out that that the service cancellation required wiping the printer operating system and reinstalling. My son is IT director for a county school district and with a couple hours work was able to wipe and reinstall. At a hundred bucks an hour for service support, hp and my son could have billed 600 bucks to get the cartridge working. On a 140 dollar printer

Change a car battery and have to go to the dealership to recalibrate all kinds of shite.
