Going south on I55,exiting at Laplace and taking 61 into kenner has saved me a couple times from clusterfricks on the spillway.

1 hr average drive, little to no traffic delays, doing less then 80 mph at knock off traffic times might get you run off the road, overall its not bad. 1000 times better then trying it the other way round

You’ll be fine leaving. Be prepared for cluster fricks on bonne carre in afternoons coming back tho. download waze and check before laplace. Itll tell you if itll be faster just getting off in laplace and taking airline.

Why not move to the Northshore? Easy access to NOLA (without living in NOLA) and easy access to work.
