I would buy that. I hope they do something else with the headlights but overall I like it.

Man, I really want one of these. The fact it's made in La, I might actually do it. Plus it's so cheap I can just put it on a credit card.

Elio ultra milage car

So basically an enclosed can am spyder? You're running the same risk as a motorcycle with that thing. Get in a wreck and you have a slight chance of survival.

What kind of fuel mileage moves you?

No hard number. 30+ would be a massive improvement, but if I'm going to drive a mawmaw car it better be getting real good mileage.

I keep wanting a volkswagen TDI and they came out with a bare-bones model this year, but I'm scared of diesels.

Don't fear the diesel. My daily is the Cayenne diesel and I love it. I specifically wanted a diesel because of the longevity, relative ease of maintenance, and the milage. It's an 8 speed. The interior ain't bad either.

Can't help it. I fear volkswagen as much as the diesel part.

We'll see. I might go drive one this week.

Hear. Give it a test. Read reviews. If you tow, it's got torque! Lots. I've never driven the sedan so don't know about them. Audi has diesel too. Porsche, VW, and Audi use the same engine.

Don't those have a very limited range?

Could I peel the "Leaf" stickers off?

If you are driving 40k miles a year and warranty is important to you, then Hyundai is your best option

There's a diesel Chevy Cruze. No idea how long-term reliability will be compared to the VW offerings, though.

I drive a GMC Sierra 1500. Commute 40 miles daily. I had an Elantra for a rental it was nice. If I was to get a commuter I would look that way. Another option is the Velocester, small and sporty and not to Girly. Also Hyundais come with a 10/100,000 mile warranty. They also have manual/auto trans missions. You can shift themnif you want (no clutch) or let the auto do a better job.
