Yeah I agree that's not a big dog but they are too big for sled teams which is what we were discussing. Kind of like how a man 5'9" 160bs isn't big at all but he's too big to big to be a jockey. Hope this helps.

That an English Bulldog is lazy. Yes, they tire easily, but they will play and run until they pass out.

I've got two whippets. Very misunderstood dogs (just like greyhounds, only half the size).
Misconceptions:
* "I'll bet they are hyper!"
Yes, for about 15 minutes per day. The rest of the time they are sleeping or sitting there judging me from across the room.
* "Do you ever feed them?"
Yes, I feed them regularly. They eat very well. Their breed is very thin when healthy. Very little body fat and a thin coat.
Awesome dogs. Worst guard dog ever, but overall excellent.

German shepherds. I have three. As has been alluded in this thread, shaving their coats in the summer would be very bad. I get that question constantly since my shepherds are a very dark variety. Top and undercoats are designed to deal with the environment.
On a side note. The look of pure fear they inspire is fun.
On a second side note, that some people do not teach their kids how to properly approach an unfamiliar dog is astounding.

I'm sure they're great, but they seem too frail to me.

I have a golden doodle.
He has straighter hair than most and looks like Cousin It if we don't cut his hair back a little.
He sheds a little, but WAYYY less than most big dogs.
He is also smarter than the average human and its annoying. Can pull the fridge open and help himself, I've seen him attempt to bite and turn a door knob, can gracefully swipe a cheeseburger off a plate in passing without anyone knowing and swallow all the evidence like an aspirin (although NEVER to me, he knows only his mama lets that happen), etc.
Oh and he has to have complete privacy when using the bathroom so he'll stare at me until I turn around.
FWIW, he looks similar to this, but not miniature, he's 80 lbs and skinny:
ETA:
This looks just like him, but he's the color of the first pic

They are surprisingly solid.

My dog doesn't like peanut butter.
Also, peanut butter is hard to wash off of a scrotum.

Don't allow a small breed male dog around a male Husky if they don't know each other already. Small dog will get chewed up in a hurry.

My bull mastiff will do the same thing. She HATES the rain. She also goes ballistic at fireworks and thunder.

My dog sleeps on her back on the couch 8-10 hours a day.

I used to have 2 boxers that people unfamiliar with the breed would get scared walking past.
They were the most wimpy dogs ever.

Some think pugs don't shed much because it looks like they have short hair.
Soooooooooooooooooooooooooo far from the truth.

People on this board assume I got my two pit mixes because they look tough. I wouldn't do this to them if I wanted them to look tough.
