A true American gives their freedom for their country, you millennials only think of yourselves.

SWAT was originally created for this purpose. That original use has justified their existence in no knock raids, search warrants, and stake outs.... Or in some cases justifying their existence by their use in making non deadly situations deadly...

I remember reading in Florida, SWAT teams were being used for such dangerous tasks as checking liquor and cosmetology licenses.

Oabammy and his ilk tried to get this into the last patriot act. The ability to drone Americans on American soil.

So tolerant those Dems, after all, Obammy had close to 20X more drone strikes under his watch than any other president. He loved using those drones to punish innocent women and children. Al jazeera had pictures of the strikes all the time, media here had no interest, they had their mouth on Obammys penis.

. I think we are a long ways away from weaponized drones being a standard tool at departments across the country.

With as cheap as drones are becoming, I think most departments will have at least one conventional drone within a couple years. If this goes through, armed drones won't be far behind.

However, I can see a couple applications for it - if that is all it would be used for.

You don't think modern tactics would be just as effective as a drone in the Essex and Whitmore situations? Tactical training and SRT's are leaps and bounds above what they were even 15 years ago.

Eh.. I dunno about that.

It doesn't seem to have a place.

The use of drones in police work would to be keep an officer from getting injured. The use of a drone to that can kill someone though...? Where does that fit in?

A police officer isn't going to engage unless engaged, and someone fricking up a drone isn't an offense worthy of killing them.

Finally, if a situation arose that the suspect was so dangerous that taking him alive wasn't an option, they had to kill him as there was no other way to keep people safe, they would be able to improvise a system in those moments capable of killing him via drone anyways, or heres a novel thought, waiting him out.

A situation where a drone would need to kill someone is damn near impossible to imagine though.

I completely disagree. Drones with flir is one thing. Arming a drone is something different if we are talking airborne stuff. If we are talking strapping dynamite to a RC car then that's another can of worms

But you're still putting humans at risk. The drone would solve that. Still not in favor of them, though. Too much room for abuse by the government.
