FCC is set to vote on frickdick Wheelers "fast-lane" plan. Basically will destroy net neutrality unless they decide to classify cable companies as utilities. Wheeler is a former lobbyist for the cable industry tho so why would they.
Or unless congress steps in with legislation.

then they will laugh in our faces as they collect their money
Want us to break up the bundles on cable and go a la carte on the net?
Ok!
But guess what? You get to pay 10 times what you used to for your internet and if you watch too much TV we gonna charge you more or shut you off. Oh, by the way, those channels we don't own from all our other mergers? You pay more for those! Trollolo!
Cheers!

What happens then?
You'll start being charged extra to get decent speeds with Hulu or Netflix etc.
These data caps are bullshite , it's like charging me extra on my TV bill bc I watch too much of ESPN or something.

Ok.
I thought that was about the net neutrality bit.
What if Internet just becomes a business tool then, and all this TD bs is a luxury item, per se.
frick the Internet. We were fine before it. I'm not shellin out anymore cash for what's already being provided!
Like I said, I'll go back to reading books!

after seeing your post i went to check on mine since i've always been interested in my data usage.
looks like in Feburary i went 220GB over....and it only had 28days.
looks like cox finally doesn't suck in one category (capping/suspending my service)

I gave you an upvote, just because I feel bad that you're being downvoted as the bearer of crappy Comcast news.

what i don't understand about this whole thing is this:
this decision isn't goint to force companies to cap people's speed and charge them more for certain sites is it?
wouldn't this leave room for other providers to offer something that their competitor in an area might not (unregulated internet)?
they might not be making as much money from the customer or taking in money from specialty servers, but the influx of customers would level that out, right?

But the internet is so engrained in our lives at this point... These cable companies have us by the balls and they know it.
Not to mention this fast lane bullshite will squash any small start ups that cannot afford to pay the ransom... Stifling creativity & competition

How do you seriously come in a thread showing you Comcast is going to cap your internet and post this nonsense?

Most only have one choice when it comes to high speed internet. Besides at the rate these frickers are merging we'll only be left 1 nationalized company before we know it. In Comcast we trust

Comcast xfinity. Don't know if it's different
Comcast is so terrible that they actually developed the Xfinity name in an effort to distance themselves from themselves.

and how does that avoid an antitrust suit?

Uh, we don´t. That´s surely simply referring to innocuous solicitations (which obviously would never occur).
