Not very many posters on the OT will defend drinking but condemn pot. And if they do, it's because they are/were losers who were never offered any.

Louisiana will be last to have anything like this cause Jesus hates weed and it's supporting inner city terrorism.
Behind the times a good 20 years.
St Tammany sheriff said a couple years ago at if pot were legal, there would be a huge surge in the number of drug dealers. Don't even try to apply logic to that statement.

Weren't you a junkie? This post is funny. Maybe your heroin addiction was a gateway to your eventual pot habit. Better to step down than up I guess. You should speak at schools.

Yeah, heroin.
I don't even drink now. Actually New Years made it a year.
I used to love pot growing up but got in some trouble and had to quit for some years when put on probation. After finishing it all I smoked a few times wih friends and just didn't enjoy it like I once did. But I was in a partying phase and It just didn't seem fun at the time.
I could see one day down the road, smoking recreationally every now and then just to chill wih friends. I see it pretty harmless.
Probably not though. Once I get a wife and kids and stuff.
Could just seeing me smoke every now and then other than drinking at a local watering hole or something

Sounds like you've turned your life around and have aspirations for the future. Keep it up.
Unfortunately any and all run ins I've had with junkies only reinforces my opinion of them. Every group has outliers, and I hope you fall in that category.
(The outlier group that is)

It's probably better to be a stoner than an alcoholic. IMO

Colorado doesn't know what to do with all the money they are making from weed

From the OP's link:
Yeah, I wouldn't turn down a $30M gift either, except...
From what I can find, CO's annual budget is $19 billion. So if I read & calculate this right, pot's contribution is 0.16% of the state budget. Not the strongest argument, eh?
I would welcome other reports from sources and links that do not have a pre-conceived "pot = groovy" or "pot = the Debil" bias, although I despair that such analysis exists.

Taking money out of the hands of drug dealers and into the hands of politicians. Not sure what I think about that.....
Has anyone done the consumable route with this? I quit smoking cigarettes many years ago and the thought of smoking anything again just doesn't sit well with me.

we may beat Alabama by a few months
It will look like Louisiana is going to beat Alabama to it, but Alabama will call a special session and quickly legalize marijuana right at the end before Louisiana does.

and it's funny how the tax revenues are always "for the schools". do people still believe that?

Louisiana needs to be the first to do so bc wen everyone starts doing it, that means less people are traveling to that state to get it.
The first state in the south to legalize will make bank. Unfortunately, they will be the last.

That doesn't take into account all the secondary and tertiary boosts to the economy and other types of taxes. Hotels are full, real estate is on fire, and the dem gov is about to return tax money to the citizens.
It's only been legally recreational for one year. Life is great in CO. Ask anyone who lives here.

Weed heads used to be some of the most chill people to be around when I was in school and I never smoked. Now they are just a bunch of whining assholes.
