Dude, she was a old woman that shop lifted. Not public enemy number 1. That frickin cop should be fired.

So he should have let her go? He should have rolled up and said “oh she looks old, guess I’ll just leave”. He even said in the video she was in her 60s, he didn’t know she was 73.

You love to watch a handful of videos out of millions of police interactions, slow down the videos, and play Monday morning quarterback.

I'm thinking their reaction has more to do with how people view this than anything else. Most normal people would realize they injured someone, particularly an older person, and at least show a bit of concern. They certainly wouldn't sit around watching video of it and laughing. That is fricked up.

No doubt. It’s a bad look.

But it’s also not surprising. If you put up video cameras and microphones in your office 24/7 that anyone could review at any time what kind of fricked up shite would we hear every day.

Sometimes people use humor (even if it’s bad or grotesque) as a way to deal with stress, frustration, anxiety, etc. Ask cops or military and they will all say this.

Wtf are you talking about. Explain to me step by step what he should have done then. From the first encounter until how he gets her to the police station.

You damn sure wouldn't hear me laughing and bragging about how I just fricked up an elderly woman.

Well, for starters he has already "heard a pop" and he has said that he "thought it was her shoulder". So, maybe he could have listened to her crying and asking for medical attention and actually gotten her some. That's a good place to start.

I don’t give a frick what you think

What self righteous people like you don’t realize is that there is no simple solution and every action has a reaction.

I see the police as a necessary evil in a imperfect world. With as many crazy and violent people I see every day I’m actually impressed there aren’t 10x more videos like this.

Cops are humans not robots. And they are poorly compensated. So no, I don’t expect them to be perfect.

If I could wave a magic wand and make every cop perfect I would. But reality is that by continuing with this anti-cop rhetoric and only talking about the bad things they do and none of the good things will result in countless numbers of innocent people being hurt because of reduced policing.

None of that has anything at all to do with how they acted after the fact. That completely draws into question their character and their fitness for duty. Some would even argue it makes them a little less "human".

Look, frick ups happen to everyone. Not everyone should be judged by their frick ups. However, we should all certainly be judged by how we react after said frick up and how we attempt to correct it. That is not an unreasonable standard.

*Edited for typo.

I guess. I just don’t see it as that big of a deal. People make crude jokes behind the scenes in every profession.

I’d rather just stick to the facts of their actions otherwise it gets into the weeds very quickly. But I agree it’s unprofessional and he should be reprimanded. I’m not sure it’s a news story though, but everything is anti police right now so I get it.

Here let me see if I can explain this to you in a different way so you can see how ridiculous it sounds.

What if we put cameras and microphones on a profession like car mechanics 24/7. They make about the same amount of money, usually don’t have a college degree, and have a physical job.

Then let’s have the news report on every single incident out of the million of interactions with car mechanics.
Everytime they screw over a unsuspecting young woman
Everytime the make fun of a customer in the break room
Everytime the forget to put the oil filter on
Everytime the jerk off in the backseat of your car
Everytime they piss in the gas tank
Etc.

Then we rail on all auto mechanics endlessly as being low life scum that we need to get rid of.

This type of campaign could be waged against literally any profession. Y’all are just too dumb and took the bait. Pawns in a larger game.
