I never understood why people think artificial scents smell better than just a fresh, clean person and clothes that have hardly any scent at all
This is why I quit brushing my teeth with toothpaste. Saliva and water is the natural way to go.

Most people have a natural scent (usually not good), some more than others. Deodorant and cologne mask it and make you smell good. It's not childish to want to smell good but you do need moderation.
Women with too much perfume drive me crazy and not in the way they want. If they only knew how annoying they were.

If you like cologne, whatever that's fine, just say that. I really don't care if everyone around you can't smell it.
But don't explain it using this example.
Prior generations used cologne to cover up smells more than have a good one. Soaps, body washes, shampoos, hot showers, deodorants, washing machines, dryers, air conditioning to prevent sweating, etc. have come light years since "prior generations".
There's no reason someone should stink anymore unless they are really hard-up for money, in which case they probably shouldn't be buying cologne anyway.
I really don't care if other people wear cologne though if I can't smell it, I'm just making conversation.

Deodorant/Anti-persistent PREVENT it.
And most people's natural smell doesn't stink if they're clean and have clean clothes. Wtf. Maybe you mean their sweat does after exercising? Or they stink after a long period without a shower?

No cologne, but I've had good luck with whiskey breath and stale cigarette smoke on my clothes.

My wife was impregnated the first day I tried Polo Red.

Tommy Hilfiger original is the only way to go.
But if I'm not going to a middle school dance I usually wear Armani Code or Polo Black
