It truly was once a really really cool college city. Friday nights at Giamanco’s before football games; Saturday lunches at Pastimes; Sunday buffet at Pancho’s on Nicholson.
And we went to clubs even on Florida Blvd. and College drive was just that. It was like THE drive into LSU, with the exception of Stanford and the lakes, to signify you were headed to College hangouts.(Tigerland and the like, if you used college to Lee). Lots of college kids lived in homes around Perkins and Lee and there was RARELY an issue...mostly car break ins.
Just a city that did a 180. Can’t do any of these things carelessly any longer in those areas.
And we went to clubs even on Florida Blvd. and College drive was just that.
