They have a group out here in Colorado that does cold plunges in the dead of winter in Horsetooth Reservoir in Fort Collins. There's a science to it. Even when its hot as frick our rivers and reservoirs stay super cold.

We bought a stock tank 2’x6’ oval and fill it and sometimes put ice in it. Haven’t used it this summer yet. Do have a hot tub too. Haven’t do the hot tub to cold plunge yet either. Looking forward to it though. My body hurts more everyday.

I sometimes go over to Carmel beach first thing in the morning and plunge in the water for about 3 min. Ice cold salty plunge right after sun comes up starts the day off right
