Yes, my 140 pound 9 year old would like 2 double cheeseburgers and large fry and a coke.

Which illustrates why this will be ineffective. You can order that with the coke for a 9 year old. As long as it isn't on the kid's section of the menu.

Kids and young adults are dying by droves in the streets, yet this is what they give a shite about. Insanity.

At least you aren't pretending you don't support big government, small progress.

And yea, I don't really give a frick what other people choose to do with their lives.

Why is it the governments job to tell businesses what they can serve? Legal stuff?

Nanny government creates soft people.

You arent wrong. But how much better off are the kids drinking the juice that they will be given?

This is where this dumbass "law" fails. I'm okay with regulating the targeting of sugary drinks towards kids, but you can't ban soft drinks and then offer juice that has just as much sugar as the soft drinks that you ban. That's just ignorance on the councils part.

Banning soda with kids meals will not be a drop in the bucket to preventing it.

Agreed, I don't see this as some sort of solution.

Like I said though, I'd rather any kind of action at this point, even if I don't agree with it. Lots of great ideas in this thread that will never be attempted and somehow that is supposed to be better than someone trying something.

There's nothing wrong with a kid eating a burger, fries with a coke as long as it's done in moderation. What the kid eats on a regular basis is on the parents, not some city councilman.

As much as I hate McDonalds and Coke, I hate government regulating personal choice much more.
But they okay with tax revenue from cigarettes and alcohol.

no offense but i truely hate people like you. the whole "we have to do something" crowd.

the reason our country is fricked up beyond belief and the federal government has so much power....because of people like you who believe "we must do something"

doesnt matter if its the right thing to do, the unintended consequences etc.....just emotional feel good bullshite arguement of...have to do something, anything.

frick off.

Better than the crowd such as you. You want to do something, but if you can't get your entire way you want to do nothing.

Then sit back hope for failure so you can say "told you so"

Probably have never voluntarily gotten behind an idea that wasn't your own.
