re: Co-workers that come into work SICK

I'm pissed about excessive absenteeism, but I'm more pissed about getting sick because an inconsiderate a-hole gave me their illness.
I'd confront the individual ( politely of course) then ask HR to intervene. No point in spreading a GI upset thru the whole office.

Today, he said he has explosive diarrhea and said that he shite himself during a site walk thru this morning with one of our biggest customers. Since coming in from the site walk thru, hes blown up the bathroom no less than 4 times. Now, hes headed to the permit office to get a permit for a job that isnt proejcted to start until the 2nd week of March. The VP of our company told him to go home. I told him to go home. He insists on working today.
When I clicked here, I did so on the assumption that you were another poster whining about a co-worker having a freaking runny nose or something, and was going to hammer you about it.
But yeah, this guy needs to go home.

Where I work, if someone does that, they may get written up. No need to make others sick and lose more productivity

One of the many reason I'm glad I work at home. Too many stupid people who have no regard for others.

If it's coming out of either end, I'm staying home. Don't get why people would endure work while being that ill, especially if you have sick days.

If I'm shitting thru a screen door or running fever, I work from home. Other than that, I'm at work. Unless we're slow and I don't have many projects going on. Fighting a sinus infection now, got 3 shots yesterday, still at work.
Maybe he needs to learn to train his subordinates so he can be away at times....

If I ever shite my pants at work, I would immediately quit and never show up again due to extreme embarrassment. I'm actually more impressed that the dude didn't seem to give a frick about people knowing he shite his pants.

I think this is a great point, and if I didn't call it a day, I sure as hell wouldn't tell anyone

Although I'm glad he did because this is awesome. I can literally imagine this guy walking around your company with clients and realizing he's about to shite himself, followed by actually shitting himself, the clients probably realizing he just shite himself, he's probably thinking that wasn't so bad I don't think they noticed, and then cuts the meeting short to tend to said blowout, meanwhile the clients are laughing their arse off about this at lunch this afternoon and considering moving their business to some place where project managers don't shite themselves during routine walk throughs.

He said he keeps an extra pair of underwear in the glove box of his company vehicle. He was on site at the time and changed his underwear and trashed the old ones. Absolutely fricking ridiculous. I could tell more stories about this guy but Ill spare everyone the time.

I handle all financial operations of the company. The same Project Manager underwent a serious medical procedure during October of 2013 and we paid him for the 2.5 weeks that he was off. He's on salary so we would most certainly pay him if he needs to take off a day.
i'm going to advise you to shut the hell up right now. You could be putting your company at risk of a lawsuit with statements like this.
You have pretty much violated HIPAA. I'd be firing you right now rather than the guy coming in sick if I were your boss.

The Project Manager literally told everyone in the company, owners, management, and his service technicians that he was going to have an operation. He also told everyone in the company the nature and extent of the surgery. He has made this information public to everyone in the company. He also speaks openly with co-workers and customers about his condition. Also, I have not named any names and no one knows the name of the company that I work for. I also have not stated what the operation was for.

That's not what I'm taking about. You leaked medical information on a public board about a employee of your company.
You have violated HIPAA and I'd be firing you with the quickness. As the controller of the company, you should know better.

Hope he doesn't wear boxers.
Get a cleaning crew to come in to disinfect the place and take it out of his salary. Also, definitely take him off of the account he was working with this morning ASAP
