Did you read the article? She wants them to hire better folks and implement better training.

Isn’t H&M the same company that had the black kid in the hoodie that read ‘coolest monkey in the jungle’?

Sounds like someone that steals regularly from the mall

Or in other words, your team did nothing.

They didn't technically steal anything while still in the store. So you don't confront them in the store (b/c they didn't actually leave the premises yet) and you don't confront them when they leave.

It's no surprise people walk out without paying because it appears nothing will be done.

By the way, I'm not dogging you personally, just loss prevention in general b/c these low-lives continue to get away with it.

In college I worked for a sporting goods store and they told you that you would be fired if you followed someone outside of the store to confront them for theft. I guess they didn't want the store to be sued if you kicked someone's butt in the parking lot.

Yes, I did. Thanks for asking.

They severed ties with their security company and got a new one. We can only assume they informed the new one of their heightened requirements. So that is done, yet here we are, discussing what she needs to feel whole again.

She still wants something. What is it?

Nope, the accusation is the only thing that matters. Don't even need evidence anymore. H&M should be good to go

Couple weeks ago at Perkins Rowe before me and my girlfriend went to the movies. She stopped at Urban Outfitters to look at clothing and a black lady walked in with her young daughter. A couple minutes go by and she’s walking down the stairs to head for the exit and the manager stops her. Next thing you know she’s yelling calling him a racist, the whole nine yards I walked closer so I could hear the whole argument. Unbeknownst to the workers their was 2 other teenAgers in the store with tons of stuff in there hands they bolted to the door. Right after that the black lady says “that’s what y’all get and runs out” it was crazy. We asked one of the workers and she told us that lady had been caught stealing before. Ridiculous

Bad move. I worked loss prevention as a part time job until recently. Our policy is once they're out the door, leave them alone as nothing good comes from confronting somebody once they leave the store.

Back in the day when I worked at WalMart, the policy was that you couldn't stop anyone until they went out the store. And if we ever lost sight of the person, we couldnt stop them unless we saw them take another item.

A person can conceal item after item but until they walk out the store, they havent stolen anything. Believe it or not, there was a ton of people who would conceal items and get cold feet and later put the item on a shelf instead of stealing. If this girl didnt get out the store, then bad move on the LP team.

I have never shopped at H&M and don't know their price point. But whatever it is, I can't imagine the earrings are worth the soon to be negative press that will blanket this retailer.

Its a cheap store. Very cheap.

I buy their v-neck tshirts because they're super soft and cost like $8.

Why would you stop at all? You didn't do anything wrong. Should have told them to frick off and went to your car.

Because I am not a defensive jerk. Why not let them do their job?

It only took 90 seconds.

Why are you in such a rush? On the way to rocket surgery or something?
