Foundation Cigars is a good start. Their Charter Oak CT (Connecticut) is mild and light, but awesome for $7. If you want something stronger go with one of their Wise Man cigars, then venture your way into more expensive brands.

The darker the color the stronger the cigar. Start with the light tans and work your way up. There are lots of good cigars in the $4-$7 range. Don’t waste money on 30 cigars. I smoke occasionally while golfing or riding in the boat. Greycliff makes a good sub$4 cigar called the G2. Check it out.

Save your money. Cigars stink.

This isn’t always true. Maduro is generally a stronger cigar, but color isn’t always an indication of strength.

Just like wine, hamburgers and beer, tastes are subjective and what is good is what you like. So I’d just start trying different brands and blends noting the size and composition (wrapper, filler) of those you like to narrow down your tastes.

I hate an Acid cigar now. Like I hate wild Turkey honey. Cant stand the sweetness. But I won’t ever judge someone for smoking one cause they got me into the game. When I was new to it I loved them. If you’re trying to get a taste for it, I’d honestly recommend Acids or Del Sol to ease into it.
I’ve been on an infused cigar appreciation for several months. Just like changing things up.
Acids are so damn good for this.

As someone said, the Drew Estate Under Crowns are good. I would also recommend Arturo Fuente Chateau Series and my Father Centurions.

I am no expert, but I have been happy with Slaughterhouse cigars when the mood strikes. Garcia y Vega are alright, too. Both are inexpensive.

I also started with Acid brands like several others have stated. They have several different offerings, back then I preferred the blue label ones, but now I don't even hardly like the smell of them lol
Factory Smoke Sweets, about $2-$3 a piece depending on where you get them. Sweeter cigars tend to be favored by beginners instead of diving head first into a full bodied maduro.
If you like coffee I'd try a coffee flavored cigar. Tabake Especial, Nica Rustica, Macanudo makes a coffee one as wel, Java
