Christmas gift to myself -- dead out of the box. UPDATE

New Smart TV. Essentially my only gift. Piece of shite doesn't work out of the box.
In laws on the way to eat Christmas dinner, and I am already fit to be tied.
There. Got that out. Merry Christmas to all.
ETA-- nobody cares, but after the good folks at the OT made me laugh at myself, I was a cordial host to the In Laws (who are truly good folks), and enjoyed Christmas Day. Best Buy replaced the TV today no questions asked -- the old one was bad. Enjoying my new Smart TV.

You laugh, but last night my mom told me her computer was broken. She plugged it in, but it wasn't working. I walked over, pushed the power button and told her she brought shame on the family.

Samsung. It's nothing special. I said "dead", but that's not accurate. It powers up, but won't do anything from there.
Documentation is no help. i see the dreaded post-Christmas visit to the returns line in my future.
