Nine years ago on June 25th, 2007, former WWE star and one-time world heavyweight champion Chris Benoit was discovered dead in his Georgia home after he had murdered his wife Nancy and son Daniel before taking his own life. In a long, emotional and at times horrifying interview with WWE star Chris Jericho, Benoit's former sister-in-law Sandra Toffoloni - the sister of Nancy Benoit - spoke openly about her experiences with Chris Benoit and the tragic events that stunned the wrestling world.

And in honor of this interview:

Benoit's in ring performance was so good it's like nobody told him it was supposed to be staged.

so did he really hang himself via bowflex?

Jericho notes that "if you lined up 100 people against the wall that knew Chris Benoit, 100 of them would have nothing but good stuff to say about him."
That may be true, but if you lined up 101 people, one of them would be catching that crippler crossface.

That may be PJ's finest moment on this board. It was a watershed moment.

The fact that he used a variation of signature move to end his kids life is always got me.. Something definetly wasn't firing off correctly in the man

One of the more level headed interviews I've heard from someone that close to a tragedy like this. Usually these interviews are self-serving; that doesn't seem to be the case here.

William Regal talking about Chris Benoit on his tribute show.
Regal knew Benoit as well as anyone having been around him for over a decade in WCW and WWE. They even lived on the same street in Atlanta. They did this interview before the truth about what had happened came out, but you can tell Regal knew something wasn't right. He wasn't effusive in his praise and was pretty reserved, especially compared to everyone else who talked about how wonderful Benoit was. Really chilling when you learn how close they were to each other.

yeah and it provides good points for the conspiracy theorists. The Benoit case is one of my favorite conspiracy.

What's the conspiracy?
I don't know much about the case- I always just thought it was a straightforward murder-suicide, likely due to mental health issues.

I'm not sure who it was, but some think that Benoit was mixed up with some dangerous folks and that he and his family were murdered.
EDIT: It's Bill Apter. Normally you would dismiss this as nonsense, and I'm sure it is. But Bill Apter isn't some wrestling smark fan idiot.

About as much conspiracy that comes with every well publicized death.

seems like that would have been the preferred story to a murder suicide though
