These are still a complete clusterfrick. Transactions take longer. Some merchants aren't set up so you're guessing what to do. Sometimes the chip readers go down.

I was told that Europe's been doing this for years and how great it is. Well, as usual, the Europeans can go suck it.

I dont have an issue with it, except I really dont see the point.

And if I ever get snuck up on at an atm, I cant make a quick getaway.

They do take longer to process. However, still shorter in time than the old lady who still writes checks.

I dont mind the literal 5 extra seconds if it means better security.

Pain in the arse. My B of A chip doesn't work anymore, so i have to try a2nd fail 3 times before it tells me to swipe. Even when it works, it takes forever.

protects the big banks. The chips are more secure and the liability is on the merchant if fraud occurs and they didn't use the chip.

I just wish more places used the card in the reader that told you to swipe so you don't have to guess whether or not it works.

I just hate the guessing game of whether to swipe or do the chip.

thats really not how it works, in very basic layman's terms, it's a read/write; everytime you use the card a new encryption key is set on your card

any data a theoretical thief pulls, is just useless character strings
