Well for one, when the chinese economy collapses the entire world is fricked. They are the production hub for everything.
Remember all the supply chain disruptions during COVID? Imagine if those supply chains aren’t just delayed but totally evaporate.
I want to see the Chicoms eat shite but it’s going to be way more painful than anyone could imagine because we have allowed ourselves to be totally dependent on them.
US Industry is second in the World. Contrary to popular belief, we still have a strong Industrial sector.
If China collapses, our industry output will increase. Companies will relocate here, and bite the bullet on paying higher wages instead of dying off.
It will hurt for a little while, but it wont be a total disaster like some of you are preaching.

The talk of the collapse of China’s real estate market has been going on for at least a decade.

Has anyone from the west been inside any of these buildings? I know 60 mins and such have done stories on these towns. I wonder how finished out they are inside. Just exterior shells? Any interior walls? Any lights?

It took decades to move everything overseas. It's not going to have a simple or quick fix. Factories aren't going to pop up overnight, especially when everyone is broke.

By 2050 they are projected to decrease from 1.3 billion to around 650 million. That's not good
That one child policy is coming back to haunt them.
Unfortunately we have the same issue here, but it is the people choosing to have less children. There eventually will be less future payers into social programs like social security. Sorry no lockboxes.
But we are also allowing millions of immigrants to migrate here, some will work while other migrants just suck on the government teet exasperating the problems.

I've followed this some. This is why we're and some EU people are allowing so much immigration.
Lack of births = lack of future tax payers.
I think more countries should give child tax credits vs wholesale immigration

Our politicians sold us away thirty years ago. We are all fricked. We will likely bounce back. They may not.
Yes, we have the natural resources without an immediate population crashing birth rate.
So we could very well experience another Great Depression but we would eventually work our way out of it.
Technology and knowledge has increased enough for us to fix our immediate needs and we will have to learn to live without cheap slave labor goods that we didn’t actually ‘need’.
China has mining operations and fishing as their only main natural resources. The only other valuable resource they have is millions of young single men in the military.
They will attempt to invade neighbors in order to take over their land for food production and any other natural resources they can find there.
They have been stockpiling petro chemicals for a reason.

They actually do. They go out of their way to buy Made in Japan.

their economy is failing so they're demolishing uninhabited cities to spur growth
Posted on 8/21/22 at 6:26 am to Baconator501

Posted on 8/21/22 at 6:27 am to Baconator501
