This thread attitude about this is exactly why this city sucks. Everyone is so jaded about every new idea that the only places that continuously succeed are lifeless chains that have nothing to add to the city experience at all

The building on the top is a big room and some smaller ones. Last time I was up there is was old files, junk, Mr. Richard's office and a pinball machine.

They could really do something nice with a rooftop bar. Especially if they look at some designs from places like Austin, Houston & Atlanta.

A rooftop bar in Louisiana is a pretty worthless feature. You can’t use it during the day from May-October, can’t use it during the many rainy days/nights, and no one wants to sit outside in August at night sweating their balls off.

For you and all the people doubting this have you ever been to Houston, Austin, Dallas, Atlanta, Savannah, Charleston?

All these cities have hot/humid climates and mosquitoes, and other bugs yet have successful rooftop bars.

I've been to Charleston and Austin in the middle of july and all the rooftop bars were packed

Tsunami in Baton Rouge has had a rooftop bar and restaurant for 10 years.

Yep

Most tailgates are 10000 degrees, doesn’t stop anyone either.

The rooftop bars at the Domain in Austin are legit as hell. And there are ways to keep the area cool. It’s not going to be just an open area, there will be coverage

Rooftop bars with cool views are awesome.

We go to hg sply just because it has a cool view. They have shitty vegan mixed drinks, but plenty of beer.

Agreed, the entire "BR is too hot for a successful rooftop bar" is foolish thinking. Hell, places like Tuscaloosa have rooftop spots.

They just have to avoid going the cheap route if they want this to be a staple on that side of campus.

Tsunami's also a nicer spot than Chimes.

This is going to do very well, even in the summer.

There is a difference in eating sushi on a date outside and hanging out having drinks and eating appetizers.
