No reason to have a gun when they're older either. Greatly increases your chance of being killed by a firearm

Those firearms can turn on you when your sleeping if you're not careful. I have to lock mine in two safes to keep them from turning on me.

The day my son was born after his birth in the morning, that afternoon I went to Puglia's and bought him a Browning 20 ga. BPS youth model. Nevr doid he use it without my supervision. That evening when I went back to the hospital I brought a Browning catalog with a picture of it to show him. Lol...... My wife thought I was crazy.

If anyone needs....... I have a Browning A-Bolt in .243 with B.O.S.S. I'm selling.

It's negligence, if the distinction is beyond you then you might want to find a different thread to pollute.

Bought mine his first gun 20 years before he was born. That too early?

My answer would be no sooner than you'd be comfortable with him or her fricking.

Why? Every kid should have a .22 or .410. Teach them safety when they are young, no problems when they are older.

FWIW you can teach them gun safety without their own gun. I think the more important question is when should a child have access to a gun - be it "their" gun or not - without supervision.

13 with a 20 gauge.

Started him off at 5 with a red rider though. Gotta atart them with a safety minded approach.

My dad bought me a .22 the week I was born. I wasn't allowed to shoot it until I was about 4 or 5 with him helping. Wasn't allowed to control it by myself until I was 8ish and still within sight. I was 10 or 11 before I could just take it in the woods behind the house. 11 was when I also started deer hunting by myself.

I wonder how you can remember to breathe, what with the lack of brains you display.

Got my first shotgun at age 5. Jr. Topper model 410. Had to have the stock shortened so my finger could reach the trigger. Still have it.
