I went to EJ ('82 alum) with Louie (think he was '83 with my wife), funny, funny guy. Not a bad ball player either, iirc.

The COLD!!! My best friend in high school's sister married Chris Luckette...We used to help set up / take down for some of their shows (paid in bar tabs sometimes)...Downs Lounge...went with a bachelor party once, one of my buddies brought a VHS camera in, and hilarity ensued. Fine drinks served by cute fillies, indeed.

Remember the Dugout bar Dino's Rock Box in Fat City. Also spent a lot of time in Whitey's pool hall on Turnbull.

Family baseball cards and comics, I want to say. Same lady and her husband were always in there working
Yep. The comics all smelled like their cigarettes.

No mention of McCallister's Quarter for Monday night quarter water, or nickle beer Sunday nights at the Bounty...
Or Spaghetti Eddie's in Fat City....

What years did you play there?
Also, Delta playground brought out the sluts for their sockhops. Damn I miss that.

I THINK Delta still has sock-hops! Ever' now an' agin' we drive down West Metairie and sometimes they have them on the sign. Harahan has them, too.

The Dug Out was part-owned by Metry baseball legend Wayne Silva, I think.

Wooshie! He was a piece of work.

Basil, if you graduated in 82 and your wife in 83, we probably know a lot of the same people. I went to Jesuit but most of my friends went to Rummel and EJ. I actually played legion baseball for EJ in 83 after graduation since I got tired of sitting the bench at Jesuit.
Mark Griggs, Kevin Dunham, Eric Orlando, Brandon Adams, Chris Pettis along with the Leblanc brothers
Wooshie coached us but didn't show up half the time so we had rotating coaches

Her name was Nell.
Before they moved to W.Metairie they had a TINY comics/cards shop on the corner of Transcontinental and Airline across the street from Garden of Memories cemetery.
