If this was someone’s house, they’d be told if you can’t afford it, you should sell it.

Maybe all the state parks should be sold.

No more budget nightmare.

Nope, live in Pine Point, between Mamou and Ville Platte. Spent a lot of time camping out around Turkey Creek, though.

Yeah they went up on campsite prices too.

They are more expensive than some of the nicest National Parks. Now I go camping elsewhere.

I always heard Chicot kept the other parks running. It's the state's flagship park, but also the largest. They need to figure this out soon. You've missed out on life if you haven't taken your bmx down the deadly hills at Chicot as a kid. Now I take my kids at least 5 or 6 times a year. I remember when they still has the pool. Maybe they should start using prisoner's to do maintenance like Mississippi does. Every time we camp at Percy Quinn there are prisoners on mowers and emptying trash. It seems to work out well for them.

Another problem is that people are buying these 50' 5th wheels that don't even fit in most of these old parks. "Campers" now would rather go to Cajun Palms and let little Johnny roam wild while daddy stands in a pool full of piss all day, drinking $5 Miller Lite's, getting ready for the evening golf cart competition, instead of taking their kids hiking or bike riding or fishing.
