Then don’t yell to stop and put your hands up if you’re going to shoot him regardless.
You should stop and put your hands up
The officer didn’t say stop and turn to me with the gun in your hand did he?

I saw the entire long video. I don’t think the cop was out to fricking kill this kid, but he gave him instructions that were basically a death sentence under the circumstances.

but explain why the gun lands 5-6 feet from incident

The cop never told him to turn around with a freaking gun in his hand

The cop said stop and put your hands up. The kid does that and he is alive

the cop told him to drop the gun, and the kid apparently obliged, right? so do you see what we are getting at here?
idk im undecided i can reasonably see both sides at this point

The cop never says “turn and face me with your gun”
You do that, and your getting rightly shot 99% of the time

I bet he saw him stop, his hand go forward, in his hand, as he tossed the gun his hand was obstructed and he turns around going to raise the same hand.
Boom, shot, and rightfully so. Cop saw everything in full speed, and made a judgment called from what he witnessed. Not an easy decision, but home skillet could have avoided all that. Another criminal off the street.

The only person with an easy decision that night was the kid with the gun
He had multiple easy decisions where he would be alive

Why isn't there one a****** reporter that goes to the families and says "So why was your f****** 13-year-old out at 2:30 a.m.?"
Was he disobedient to you and snuck out or did you guys just not care?
Were you aware of his possession of a weapon, at any point in time?
If the gun that your son had is tied to other violent crimes, would you still say your son's an innocent victim, and if so do you mind meeting with the families of the victims of your son?

Well of course.
There are a ton of kids right now who can avoid being the next criminal, carrying a gun, not complying, shot by a cop. But that’s not the life they want.
Imagine if he would have just dropped to the ground.
You know why he didn’t? Because he had a gun and that’s another charge. Not the brightest kid.
Cop went to work, did his job and now he’s at the mercy of the interweb experts.

You sound unbiased.

“BUT HE SAID STOP AND DROP THE GUN!”
but let’s ignore the fact the criminal turned and faced him with gun in his hand
So he should have done what the cop said. Stoped, dropped the gun, hands up. He simply once again didn’t listen

You guys are making a case for a cop to shoot someone just for possessing a firearm. Are you actually thinking this through?
bullshite. The case is that a cop cannot reasonably discern an armed suspect facing away gun in hand and within 8 milliseconds throwing the gun, his hands up and turning toward him, as a non-threat.

I mean what you think and I think are okay.
We can still have our own opinions, right?

Yeah, i just saw the streamable link with the security camera angle. Came back to apologize, I see now that he wasn't as unarmed as I had initially believed. The kid didn't know any better, but pulling the gun out of his pocket put the cop in an unwinnable situation, he had to shoot. I feel sorry for the kid and pissed at the thug who pawned the gun off on him.
Again, I spoke too soon. In the words of Coach O, "put this one on me"

It’s also noticeable this cop only fires once and then immediately tries to render aid. That’s not the actions of a cop who is just looking to “hunt brown people”
Usually all the pro-criminal crowd complain about shooting until click and not rendering aid.

I’m with you.
I don’t think a cop needs to baby a criminal into listening. The law is the law. The kid knew the law, that’s why he was running and trying to ditch the gun. Too bad he stopped and had it in his hand as he turned. What the cop saw in that split second was what the cop saw. Should have stopped the first time.
