Unrelated. The contention was that the government forced these loans. This was false.

Was Chase, the subject of this post, subject to the CRA?

Yes or no.

You've yet to prove this.

a bank that took a 25 fricking billion dollar bail out is literally the last institution in the entire universe to call out personal responsibility

Answer my question. Then we can move on to the next part, which is what the CRA required of financial institutions subject to the Act.

I'm in the business...these loans had nothing to do with CRA! You only get credit for CRA for assets that are kept on the balance sheet, the loans were packaged and securitized and sold.

This is how it went down....
*Glass Stegal repealed
*Big banks bitch at government that FNMA and FHLMC dominate mtge market because of perceived govt backing
*Banks begin to securitize non-agency eligible prime Jumbo Loans
*They learn there is a market for cuspy type loans
*AltA (limited doc loans) are made and securitized
*Sub-Prime samething
2005
*Dealers start telling mtge companies we will buy any loan that meets certain stips - and they do in huge size
*They are running out of buyers for the sub-credit portions of the deals so the create CDOs that buy the crap and repackage that
*This all works till home prices fall, they did, shite hit fan

It's quite telling when you hand people sources and all they can do is mock the source to try and discredit your arguement. Shows they have no leg to stand on and they know it.

Yeah, I'm not engaging your nonsense anymore. Argue it with the guy above that says he's in the business and that it wasn't related.

You can't seem to answer a simple yes or no question. What else am I supposed to think?

I guess I'm supposed to think the same when you cant comprehend a single sentence from an economist.

I'm quite sure you're more educated on the subject than him.

This has nothing to do with you answering a yes or no question.

The only reason you say that is because I cut directly through whatever strawman you're attempting to set up and went straight to the source. That doesn't work with your agenda so you revert to simple name calling. Because you have no valid argument to counter. You are quite transparent. Go attempt your strawman on someone gullible.

You didn't cut through anything. What you did do is fail to answer a simple yes or no question.
