That sounds like bullshite. Ive never carried a balance in 20 years on 5-6 cards and have never been cancelled
Of note, AmEx by far has the best customer service.

Chase and Bank of America are two of the most notoriously scummy institutions in this country

We do, but it’s too late.
Too many people are passive, lazy, and distracted to care

The local banks will be a part of the Big 4 banks eventually. They are already going after the regional banks. The local banks will be easy pickings.
There will always be room for smaller banks

Pulled everything from chase a few years ago. Been banking business and personal via a local credit union. Couldn’t be happier.

About two months ago wife(no pics) going on trip. I handed her one of our Chase cards to use on trip. Inadvertenly, I gave her one that had been dormant for years, I had forgotten we even had it.
Do you ever let her back the car out the driveway

One of you is full of crap.
I haven't paid credit card interest in 6 years. I haven't used a debit card in so long I'd have to remember my ex wife's social to even try to use it

Citi slashed my credick limit because I wasn't using it enough. All of my metrics are excellent except total credick available thanks to those scumbags.

Chase bought out a local bank decades ago, how I ended up with them. Before this, no major problems.
Yeah, I moved on to another bank when they acquired City National. It didn't take me long to get sick of their shite. Problem was, I went to Hibernia, which then changed to Whitney. I eventually had the same problems with them. Now I'm with another local bank and couldn't be happier. I just hope they don't get bought out soon.

Chase has announced a recent expansion into NOLA and Baton Rouge.

I'm the paying customer. Should I not be able to expect to conduct business with the other person when I'm calling from an English speaking country?
So if you are hispanic and ask to speak with someone who speaks Spanish, does that make you a racist? I'd bet Chase wouldn't close your account for that.

Bank with a local or regional bank where you have a personal relationship with a bank exec.
Good idea, but they're a lot harder to find now.

He really does. The request to have the account flagged to speak only with native English speakers is insanity.
Nope i would of done the same thing.

Welcome to the new clown world. This is outrageous.
This is why I do all my banking with local banks, and keep one credit card for emergency only

The last issue was my wife was out of town and I walked inside Chase to put $400 cash in her account just to make sure she had enough while out of town. I had cash, and her account number written on a deposit slip. The employee told me they couldn’t accept the $400 cash because the account was not in my name. Even though it was cash…they wouldn’t accept it inside a bank. My only thought is someone can put a shite ton of cash in someone’s account and get them flagged for drug dealing or something???
My wife went to a local bank recently and cashed out a CD that matured and they handed her 100k cash in a brown paper bag like it’s 1880 or something
I really couldn’t believe it

It sucks, but this is nowhere near a Chase only thing. They legally aren't allowed to give you any details if they shut down your account due to the algorithm flagging you as possible fraud/laundering. This happens all the time at all banks. Spend some time on /r/PersonalFinance and you'll see.
The only reason for it to happen at one bank and not another is that each bank has their own algorithm/software for catching money laundering/drug dealing/etc. Whatever's Chase's algorithm is, it didn't like what you were doing. It's one of my biggest fears because it happens everywhere. Even local banks.
They are required by federal law to monitor and catch this sort of stuff, and often catch innocent people in the process. They have to do it to save their arse, though. They can get in big trouble if they don't catch it.
Im waiting for this to happen to me. I deal in alot of cash because i get paid in cash. Deposit it, pay the taxes on it, and pay myself. Local bank that i been dealing with for close to 40 years so we shall see.
