Cool then I’m retarded. Fine. This thread has nothing to do with Kennedy or Oswald.

I haven’t seen this. Link?

It wasn’t a simple shot. This person had been trained and in combat.

Eh. I’m going to disagree. Pretty much. Anyone who’s gone though BRM (basic rifle marksmanship) in basic training, which even clerks and truck drivers have to do, can make a 200 yard shot on a stationary target from a prone position.

So I'm supposed to accept that conservatives are the norm standard bearer (because you said so) and go from there?

You should accept it because it's objectively true.

You raised the point earlier of whether said norms are good/desirable, and that's a more intellectually interesting question to debate.

But my argument wasn't premised on the substantive value of the norms, it was premised on how that impacts the nature of the conflict.

People like you truly baffle me if you think that he had no cause to ever worry about anything etc etc.

I refuse to believe that you think what he went around doing was no cause for concern ever and he had no reason ever to be worried.

Wake the frick up.

Shooter could’ve had a car backed up somewhere. Used the trunk or had a driver after they got in the trunk. Hell, if you waited in the parking lot long enough and didn’t panic you might be able to drive right out as to not look like you’re rushing.

Looks like it was ~ 436 ft (only 145 yards) and stationary target from a prone (most stable) shooting position.

Very makable shot for anyone with any shooting background at all.

I’ve made a vitals shot on a running / slow trot elk in CO from 165 yds (dropped in her tracks), and a couple of shots beyond 200 on stationary elk. I don’t consider myself an exceptionally skilled marksman at all and honestly should be hitting the range more often than I do.

These distances just are not that difficult for a competent shooter with a properly sighted in rifle.

Beyond 400 and it’s a different story. Look at a ballistics chart and you’ll see why.

Most of my Louisiana deer spots are set up with 100 yd max shots because I prefer the woods, but pipeline stands do offer much longer shots.

In any case this happened in Utah so the more common shorter shots in LA isn’t relevant.

TLDR: The shot made wasn’t some really hard expert shot so we can’t really draw any conclusions from it re the shooter’s background.

Agree it is unlikely the neck or head was the aim point, more likely aimed center mass and hit slightly high and to the right. Would put my money on an amateur.

Ashamed he didn’t miss by a little bit more.

I highly doubt the neck was the target.
