Changing views on life

It all involves the phone. Our phone is our single greatest connector to the world. It has become ubiquitous with and through all things in life.
With that being said, why do we allow ourselves to be dictated by a phone? True, we can always be in touch. That’s a luxury I provide my group. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with being less available to others.
Not being a business owner but an employee means that, outside of my working hours, I shouldn’t have to be contacted and if I do they can email a personal email (less preferred but acceptable) or call my house phone to speak to me or leave a message (preferred). Sure they could text too, but I find that less formal than having the person formally addressing me. It’s tone and style can be lost in translation. Once again, texting is a luxury and sometimes charged by data usage. It’s not a preferred method of conducting business.
Is this a what was old is new and what is new is old thing? Am I asking too much?

I found out recently that I am part mideastern. I respect Muslims more as family men and knowing how to keep chics in check.

Good catch. I’m no good at English.

Bruh.... You ever hear of The Byrd's song Turn! Turn! Turn!
Or have you ever read Ecclesiastes 3:1-15... Which the Byrd's song takes word for word?
There is a time for everything.
Read the entire chapter 3 of Ecclesiastes. It speaks of work.

Whatever is has already been,
and what will be has been before;
and God will call the past to account.
Who’s this guy in the picture that was posted?

You are as connected as you choose to be.
If it’s work that’s a problem, are you being compensated appropriately for that extra time? Maybe you’re simply unhappy with your job and it’s demands and don’t feel valued for that effort.

Lol! I’m reading this on my phone while I text friends to come over while I stand in my pool eating pizza I ordered from my phone and drinking white cans.
