Yes, I know it sounds weird to have Louisiana in the Mountain time zone.. but really it's stupid to name time zones after a topological feature.
Also, don't get me started on the safety to kids in the morning argument. It's been scientifically proven that early school times are a severe detriment to middle school and, especially, high school students. News article
When someone makes a joke about time zones and lack of sleep, you're that guy at the bar who starts talking about Mountain time and how children are dying out there.

Idiots decided not to leave work on time today. I always enjoy my minimal traffic home at 630-7PM and tonight it was like 5 o’clock rush hour.

Couldn’t agree more. I hate this shite. Can’t get chores done, dogs don’t get much time to exercise, and it’s just generally depressing to get home and it’s dark.
