I think Modesto is a good brand- lasts about 24 months. I had it applied to my clear bra coating

I got the gold package (lifetime). Worth every penny if you have a black vehicle.

My friend owns a business that does this. He says prepping is the hardest step. If you aren't sure and don't want to spend much, you can get a 1 year package to try it out (I think around $300). It works on boat gelcoat, too.

Seems like there are a lot of stories of people doing it to boats and having hulls turn yellow and stained.

I have had my truck coated for several years, it's worth it on a black vehicle.

Do they do a full detail and paint correction before apply ceramic or is that the owners responsibility? This is something I'd like to do on my black truck, but seems like having it done on paint that is already scratched a bit is pointless...assuming it's something that is best done right after buying new.

How new is the vehicle? If it’s new paint should have little correction needing done unless there’s bird dropping stains or bug stains. Make sure they correct any spider webs or swirls that may be on the paint from previous washing/details. Also, everything I’ve seen is the stuff lasting 10-14 months. It works if you’re not one to do your own detailing.

A full paint correction needs to be done before the ceramic pro is applied. Most installers offer multi step paint corrections.

It’s a 2016 Sierra. I did a full paint correction myself within the last few months but I’d pay to have it professionally done by the guys that do the ceramic pro installation so it’s in perfect condition. When washing my truck I’d do everything by the book to eliminate any swirls yet they’d still show up over time and it drives me crazy. Hoping the CP would help mitigate those swirls and scuffs from everyday use.

paint correction is performed before.

If you’re able to paint correct yourself with a DA, compound, polish, and wax I think you should be able to do the ceramic yourself.

It’s basically just rubbing the coating into the surface and wiping off any extra residue.

We're getting a new vehicle tomorrow that's fresh off of the boat. It's silver, but it will live outside for now. I started a thread about having it clear wrapped, and everyone pointed to one of these waxes. IDK, sounds hokey.

I guess it would depend on the vehicle and how much you are will to spend.

Had my two jet skis done straight off the showroom floor. 150.00 a piece. No water spots and what have you. Gonna have him do my Vette next for 450.00. That's Benton, Kentucky prices so I don't know what they get in Louisiana. So yes, recommended. 3 days for them to "cure" before I could pick them up.
