The misinformation the past 18 months has been, by far, the most nauseating part of this ordeal for me. The amount of stupidity on the “sides” is astonishing.

Anti-vaxxers "I'll never believe those crooked fricks at the CDC."

Also anti-vaxxers "CDC says vaccinated people can spread covid just as easily. Told y'all"

I think there are a few Spanish words that would work.

How about Derecho in Wisconsin?

Did you see the sounding from Minneapolis tonight? It's the kind of sounding the NAM puts out when it gets into the cocaine, but it was real. MUCAPE at 6000 J. 0-1 km SRH in the 300s. Monster hook on the hodo, especially low level.

I understand the point and somewhat agree but now there are over 1500 people hospitalized and over 140 on vents in the state when one month ago that number was 5 times less. So because there isn’t the staff available to handle that increased load plus the normal patient population, inpatient surgeries are now put on hold. Need a total joint replacement or spinal fusion? Sorry gotta wait because there are 3 floors full of Covid patients (large majority that are unvaccinated) clogging up the hospital resources. It’s very disingenuous to act like no one else is effected by this.

You have to have your head so far up your own arse to believe this at this point. Whether you agree with it or not, your life is likely to become more inconvenient because of others very soon. Hell, most of this still going on is because of others.

Sure did. You don't see CAPE like that very often in that part of the country. Hell, the whole sounding looked like it came from the Plains.

We don’t know everything about Covid.

A month from now, we will still not know everything about Covid.

He does. He is pointing out that there's been a ton of misinformation. He must know better than the rest of us.

How do we know what's misinformation and what's not?

Clicked the link to the CDC guidelines.

While the guidelines state that is possible for fully vaccinated to transmit, the phrase and/or sentiment that it is “JUST as likely” (meaning the probabilities of transmission are functionally equivalent) is not present, it only exists in the MSN article describing the guidelines.

I fricking hate the media.

Not too fond of the CDC either.

I haven't looked through all this, but if it's the same thing I've read about earlier, some have pointed out the study the CDC relied on for this guidance is extremely flawed.

Apparently a study from India where the vaccines at issue aren't even approved here (I think Chinese junk) and the study has already been retracted for other errors.

The fact that Americans are fairly scientifically illiterate and have to consume data/information solely through the lens of the media is to blame.

So, the media can “do us the honor” of interpreting the phrase “can transmit” (which does exist in the guidelines) to mean “JUST AS LIKELY”, which is a fairly phenomenal claim - and it’s the media’s claim that gets 1,000,000 views and is forwarded for public consumption.

Well that and your reporter can't be expert enough in all fields to properly report new studies either.
