My first day back to work I saw most of the Docs wearing masks. They told me it definitely better than nothing

These same people were telling us (like less than a week ago) that masks are generally ineffective for average Joes and may even make things worse. Many doctors, etc. on TV have been saying they’re not helpful.

So which is it??

They were telling us that, bc they didnt want us to cause a bigger issues with supply.

Smart people have been wearing them when they were forced to be around groups of people.

“The official recommendation in the United States (and other Western countries) that the public should not wear face masks was motivated by the need to save respirator masks for health care workers. There is no scientific support for the statement that masks worn by non-professionals are “not effective”. In contrary, in view of the stated goal to “flatten the curve”, any additional, however partial reduction of transmission would be welcome — even by surgical masks or DYI masks that would not exacerbate the supply problem. The latest biological findings on SARS-Cov-2 viral entry into human tissue and cough-droplet ballistics suggest that the major transmission mechanism are not fine aerosols but large droplets, and thus, warrant the wearing of surgical masks by everyone.“

“Looking forward: if we are soon loosening the lockdown due to the political pressure to sustain the economy, perhaps encouraging face masks to be worn in the public would be a good compromise between total lockdown and total freedom that risks resurgence of the invisible enemy. There is now a robust scientific basis for putting an end to the officials’ anti-surgical mask hysteria and to recommend or even mandate a broad use of masks as in Asian countries that have bent the curve”

Hard working men in construction and other industries with not a ton of education do just fine with N95 respirators every day. Sorry if nurses can’t figure it out but it isn’t “rocket surgery.”

I wear them out and about and sent a box to my internal medicine buddy in Austin because his hospital was running low. You should get some when they become available.
