Well God bless those people. I don't know that I would have the courage.

I guess if the lane wasn't shutdown the crash wouldn't have happened.

So the crash caused a more widespread cause.

old Huey Long. It was fun. My drivers Ed instructor made us drive it our second day driving. Said if you could drive it and not be scared you could drive anywhere. (which I know now is BS, Colorado and Wyoming had some passes that scared me to death.)

Yesterday why was driving that bridge all I could think about was me going over in my truck and then me jumping in the water to save someone's life. The whole time my son in the backseat with his headphones on listening to music staring into the water, crazy what could happen in matter of seconds

I think about it every time, too. I get on the bridge and say a prayer. It doesn't help that people are constantly on their phones and they drive like assholes to boot. The speed then slam on the brakes before the turnarounds is so stupid

I don't know how something like this happens...
It isn't like the guy in the garbage truck isn't sitting high enough to see over the vehicles in front of him. The attenuator truck probably (most likely) had flashing lights on top. The guy driving the garbage truck either had some type of medical issue, fell asleep or had his head completely up his arse. He's lucky he didn't kill the cop too.

What I don't understand is if the vehicle didn't go off the bridge, how did the driver?

Do they have ladders to get up or handrails on the pilings?

If there are, I would think it has something to do with work on the bridge and not for the overboard drivers.

Of course. Doubtful someone in that type of trauma could find a ladder.

I still want to know how someone falls off of the vehicle is still on the bridge. Seems like a door/seat belt would keep them from going over.

Impact and through a window/windshield. Too many variables to consider.

It wasn't me or someone I care about and it wasn't you, or someone you care about. Just be careful on that fricking death trap.
