Do they want the girls to compete to see who can earn themselves a modesty poncho? Because that's how you get the girls to compete to see who can earn themselves a modesty poncho.
This one might get the poncho or a burka...

I think this one would be good to go.

Prom rules have been around at Catholic schools for years. I don't see why this is suddenly some big deal. I understand the outrage if the school isn't outlining specific rules and then making girls wear a poncho.. but if they have rules, follow them or don't attend.
On a related note, I visit schools in other states for my job and almost all of the high schools I visit are free dress and pretty much have zero dress code. The kids are smart and well-behaved and the dress code is no problem at all. I even asked about it one time when many of the girls were in shirts that showed some midriff, and the employee laughed and said "You should see Halloween.." but went on to say they mostly have no problems.
Catholic schools can do whatever the hell they want, so they're kinda exempt from this, but I think more public schools could take note. I think some public schools are damned near suffocating for both the parents and the kids.

As opposed to a "Vanity Poncho?"

I agree completely. Especially the suffocating part.

What about a curvy girl whose dress isn’t really low cut but is slightly revealing? Does she have to wear this shoulder condom?
If it's not low cut, it's not revealing. And yes, you do. Private school; their rules.

You would think in this day and age, it wouldn't really matter.

Well that's not true. Women with large breasts can't wear a v-neck or tank top without cleavage. I imagine the same is the case for prom dresses. Especially heavier girls.

Entirely agree. But the rule needs to be clearly defined as far as cut of the dress. You can't say, "Flat chested girls can wear this dress, but large breasted girls cannot"

Funny how the same people who will call this being oppressive to women are the same ones who champion the hijab as a symbol of multicultural feminism
Seriously. Especially as the oppressive one is just for one night and the multicultural one is for every fricking day. Stupid fricking liberals.

Take her now, in about three years her arse won’t be able to get through the door on your double wide

Given Catholic schoolgirl stereotypes, they may be better off giving the girl a chastity belt covering her a-hole.

That's funny because I live in a single wide...

Racist toward Hispanics.

Teachers won't wear that.
Maybe Brother Timothy but he has to be alone.

It's a catholic school so I don't see a problem with this. They don't want the girls to look like hooahs at a school function.
