Casino workers striking due to fear of being replaced by robots, what am I missing here?

Isn’t this counterintuitive? Wouldn’t the way to not be replaced by robots be to prove they can do the job better?
Southland Park in West Memphis, Arkansas is fully electronic, even the Texas HoldEm. Sure there’s the people who balk at playing poker without cards and chips, but not having to tip the dealer constantly is a huge plus.
For the track betting, I don’t see why anyone would place a bet with an actual person or even cash their winning tickets when an automatic machine can do the same thing. You cash a big win and you feel obligated to tip for something a machine can do better and quicker.
Giving a waitress a buck for handing you free water gets old quick too.
TLDR- People are getting fed up with being drained for tips at every corner at a casino and will adjust/embrace to automation quickly.

It won’t be much fun to mother frick an automated blackjack dealer for drawing a five card 21.

They could just make a robot that deals.

BUT...
They can all get together and try to royally frick a casino that isn't ready to implement these robots, though.

Don't need a real person to separate idiots from their money.

I think you’re way overestimating the amount of people that tip, and likely plays zero role in any decision by a casino to replace workers with robots. On tribal land, it will never happen. Caesar’s/Harrah’s doesn’t own the property or machines. They lease them from the tribe. In theory, they could leave after the lease is up. About 25 years from now. But why would they? How much do you realistically think their labor costs are compared to what they make PER DAY? I’m talking specifically about the properties owned by the Cherokee people.

That is part of the experience for most in my opinion. Also, I wouldn't trust the electronics being random enough. I dislike online poker because I think they are not random enough. I could be wrong, but that is my opinion.
I like the live play of a dealer, looking for tells on how someone reacts with their cards, and chips. it has more visual value having a large stack of chips in front of you and making a player really consider what their play will be.
I don't think I would like it. I would be open to trying it but that is my opinion until proven otherwise.

Every casino I've been to that is all machines and no real dealers is trashy AF.

Southland Park sucks.
But what's interesting to me is that the RNGs used to determine the card order is based on, I shite you not, past results from all kinds of horse and dog and whatever else racing all over the world. They assign cards randomly to certain race entrants and go from there and compile all these results for the card tables to use.
Which is neat, but frick West Memphis.

PokerPro tables were amazing. They got rid of them in Cherokee unfortunately. Many more hands/HR, no one can act out of turn, folds you if you act fast enough. No fumbling with chips or cards. No dealer mistakes either. So so so SO much better than live cards. God I miss those tables.

The machines are inspected and audited. I don't know what the deal people have with them are. But I sure love it when they bring that suspicious reasoning to the poker table.

You don’t have to tip the dealer at all. I sure as frick don’t. They don’t throw you 5 bucks when you go bust.

Why not just play video poker? What’s the point?
