They weren’t happy

quote:

The former "No Limit house" in the Country Club of Louisiana (CCLA) was part of a larger estate where several artists from No Limit Records lived in the late 1990s. The estate's address is 17220 N Lakeway Ave, Baton Rouge, LA 70810, which appears on Zillow listings for the area.

Background on No Limit's move to Baton Rouge A new base: Master P moved the company's headquarters from New Orleans to Baton Rouge in 1998.

The neighborhood: He purchased property in the affluent CCLA, a private gated community. At the time, residents were unnerved that a group of gangsta rappers had moved into the neighborhood, which had never had Black residents before.

Notable residents: Along with Master P, other artists like C-Murder, Silkk the Shocker, Mystikal, and Snoop Dogg lived in the neighborhood.

Facing prejudice: According to BET, Master P and his associates faced racial prejudice and hostility from some CCLA residents. To overcome resistance from residents who tried to block his purchase, Master P reportedly bought the houses with cash

It always bothered me that P put a gun to his head. Dipe fiend Willie would have given P a ride without the gun.

Without c-murder and magnolia slim it will be hard for no limit. Can’t wait for the crossover with slow motion, they probably end with that and both sides honor Soulja slim

It’s not close.

no limit had some bangers but cash money was completely on a different level after Juvenile dropped Soulja Rags and 400 Degrees

400 degrees was part of the rise of Lil Wayne. His infamous lines in Back that Azz Up.

Cash Money has so may hits

Is anyone that was involved with Cash Money still on terms with Birdman/Baby/B Asterisk or whatever he goes by now? I was under the impression that most of those bridges got burned. Mannie Fresh made Cash Money.

Was in one of the original versuz and lost to Scott Storch. But Scott used some songs that he worked on but didn't produce. Mannie produced everything.

This dude was wildly successful during his run.

Got a meet with Dre for simply being a good dude not trying to get pussy from this dancer. He then in the meeting with Dre, on the spot at the home studio drops the forgot about Dre beat.

History is the rest.

That beat is still up the in terms of all timers.

His Rogan episode is very good

mystikal put out a whopping 1 cash money song

Mystikal put out two albums under No Limit’s label: Unpredictable & Ghetto Fabulous

All those different colored plastic CD cases… had 20-30 of them from No Limit artists but still prefer Cash Money.

Oh don't get me wrong. I also enjoy Houston's scene. We used to buy chopped and screwed mixtapes back in the day when going out there.
Also no one calls Paul Wall Corny. Even though he is a middle aged white haired guy that always wears grills.

Cash Money was late 1998ish to ????

Kilo G - 1992 on Cash Money.
Ms Tee & Lil Slim - 1995ish
BG & Juvenile started 95-96ish with their first albums on CMR. It’s All On You and Soulja Rags
Then in 96-97 started the Hot Boyz - Get It How You Live. One of my personal favorites and the real reason Wayne is where he is today. From there on out, skyrocketing….
