Well if the remainder of the cartel all wanted to die then why didnt they just ask? They didnt have to go and make a big show of it here and take american hostages.

The government has to maintain this and not back down or it will get a lot uglier. I think part of this response is due to the fact citizens tried to overthrow the government in Mexico City.
