Mine was stolen in NOLA during 2011 Jazzfest. From a lot on Poydras and a cross street. Went down to pay the lot meter, and saw no cars on the row facing the street (where mine was parked). Went to the attendant, who happened to also be driving a Trans Am (yeah, yeah, I know) and asked if they towed, because I still had time left. He said "No, we put a boot on it." Cops came, implied the attendant probably was involved. Car was never recovered. Insurance gave me $13,500, which it was DEFINITELY not worth, so I bought a new car.

I'd just like to know how I made it about me when my first few posts were about getting my car stolen

My first car was a neon and it was stolen like 3 times and I got it back each time. Those cars were ridiculously easy to steal back then. I think people just took them for joy rides. I got car jacked in my two year old Grand Cherokee Laredo on Halloween a few years ago and never got that one back. The nicer the car, the faster it ends up in a chop shop.

When I was at LSU I had two cars stolen.
The first time the cops found it behind a warehouse in North BR on blocks. The thieves took the wheels and thoughtfully left the tires stacked neatly in the trunk. Otherwise it was okay.
The second time it was joyriders, the car was found in Gardere the next day, abandoned.
Both times the only damage was that the steering column was wrecked and the rear driver's side window smashed. I paid the deductible each time but insurance took care of the rest.
