It’s like a $200 repair and if you’re not an idiot, you won’t lose anything valuable. I’m not going to move out of a neighborhood because some urban youths took the change in my cup holder.

More like $650 for my S Class

You don’t want to move to Zachary because of car break ins?

why do people with mobility choose to stay in places where things like car break ins are common?
Selling my house and uprooting my family over a broken car window seems just a little irrational

The windows of your S Class will be just fine in Audubon Place. This is only a problem for the less fortunate street parkers of the 70118.

100% agree if isolated incidents. Once it becomes a pattern, it’s a different story.

Unless that pattern is 3 inches at 50 yards...

yep. it is the person's fault that left stuff in THEIR car.
not the criminals fault at all.
if I see a car with the keys in the ignition and nobody is around, it never crosses my mind to steal it. then again, I am not an animal with zero morals

Just because you supposedly have never been around that or heard about it, doesn't mean that you cracked the code on how to avoid it. It's incredibly naive to think that you're 100% safe from a break in just because you live in nicer area.
I have no idea. I have lived in 9 states and many different cities and towns. I have never heard of anyone I know talk about a car break in. I guess I will continue to live in less cultured areas.
Like I said, the people who thrive off breaking into cars and homes intentionally seek out the nicer areas because the loot is going to be worth more. Why would they simply stick to breaking into 15 year old Honda Civics and rusty pick up trucks in the lower end apartment complex, when they can break into the Audi's and GMC Denali's in the nicer neighborhoods?

Why don’t y’all have German Shepard’s, Cane Corsos, Rottweilers, Dobermans? I have a 125lb Cane Corso that can outrun a race horse for the first 50 yards, no one fricks around the house.

I have said this to my wife and friends. This will be the neighborhood where someone fricks up. Too many are trying the area. The residents are far too aware and the dozen or so people I know in that area are gun toters.
I agree with OP. Some dipshit will have to be the example and get blasted in his skull before people will stop.

I live in a neighborhood where houses have garages. I'm sorry yall are all poor.

Maybe it’s the internet and message boards but haven’t car break ins been a thing for decades now? I recall in the late 80’s and early 90’s the common denominator was car stereo systems.

Go on and think that criminals don't hit up the nice neighborhoods...

Definitely has been an increase the last few months.
Seems weird, but I haven't seen reports the last few nights of big areas hit. I don't live in an area where it has been a problem so there could be that.

Wouldn't you go to jail if you shot someone breaking into your car? I understand protecting property. But there is no threat to your life. I don't think I could randomly blast down my driveway..

You sound like one tough no nonsense mother fricker. I'd hate to be the poor sap stairin down the black abyss of your barel.
