Capital One & Google Wallet issues

Capital One is sending out new debit cards because they switched to Discover. Now, I cannot link my new debit card to Google wallet for tap to pay. I have contacted Capital One and Google several times and they keep saying the problem is with the other.

This also happened with my business debit card a year ago and I figured it was just because it was a business debit not a checking account debit card. It also is not linked to my Google wallet. Any ideas how to fix this?

When I add the card to Google Wallet, it says I need to "finish setup". I tap finish setup, it asks to verify through Capital One Bank app, and then the bank app gets an error every time saying "Sorry, we hit a snag, please try again later".

So you think the solution lies herein on Tiger Droppings and not with the 3 multi billion dollar companies themselves?

Every time I log in to Cap One now, I have to go through this whole "text me a code" thing. Very aggravating

ditch Capital One. Thats the most unresponsive, POS bank I've ever seen. All banks may suck, but Capital One sucks harder than any financial institution out there. Utter garbage.

I would say no, he does not think that. Sounds like he's just asking if anyone has experienced the issue before and what they might have done to fix it or workaround.

I was able to link my new card a couple weeks ago without issue. I use Google wallet damn near every day

Mine did the same thing, still says finish setup, but it works in the wallet now so who knows.

Yeah my wife was able to link her's with no problem. I think it's only affecting a small group. She has iphone 16, I have Google Pixel 9 Pro XL.

Although, they technically ditched me bc I called the ‘customer service rep’ a fricking moron and I guess his fee fees were hurt

Capital One suuucks. I cannot express this enough. Just try to withdraw YOUR OWN money. Huge hassle. Ridiculous.

Capital one discover is terrible. Some stores won't accept the 'tap' option and I have had the card locked a couple of times because of it. And when I called Capital one both times the first two people I talked to told me that my card number didn't exist so I had to talk to a third person who was finally able to acknowledge my account exist and unlock the card.....two times this has happened.....
