Its not about the girl or her annoying guy friend. It's totally you, dude. You're not ready for a relationship. Relationships aren't about figuring out the right angle to play. The right answer would be to talk to the girl about this guy. Just because she hangs out with that group doesn't mean you have to. At this stage, how many times have you had to be around him? Why aren't y'all doing things alone as a couple? You should end it now because you're not in the mindset for a real relationship.

Get out now while you still can.

Meh. I wouldn't go that far. It's annoying as hell and it certainly deserves a conversation, but I've been around dudes my SO used to be with and she's been around women I used to be with. If you're secure in yourself and your relationship little shite like that just isn't a big deal. Everyone has a past. You can't hide from it or ignore it, but you can learn from it and not let it affect your present or future.

good advice and I do appreciate it

How the frick do you not know if she did or not? frick that bullshite. Start there. If she fricked him, she still wants to.
Only answer here is to get your gf and his gf fricked up on blow and have them scissor fiercely and then share your cock.

Sounds like the redneck version of this movie
In that case, she is banging him

While I haven't read this entire thread, the OP description tells me enough to know that the GF is getting railed by this guy.

that's exactly what it's like, and i realize in the movie that the chick was banging him.
and it's not the "redneck" version, we're all pretty successful and urbane people.

his GF is this angry black feminist who (while attractive) I would never want to frick. And it's difficult for me to talk with her b/c we literally have nothing in common. I have to talk to other chicks in the social circle (one of whom he fricked).

Again, I agree with you.
But he shouldn't have to hang out so frequently with a guy that fricked his GF.
And this is from a female perspective. I would never put a guy in that position. It's very disrespectful to your current SO if you do so.

I'd tell compost chick and manure boy to talk shite all they want and go find a girl that's passionate about something else. I mean, really, WTF are y'all going to have going forward? It's one thing to have a little tomato garden and rake some leaves into it, but to hang around pseudo professors and give talks about it? You can do better. There can't be very many really cool, really hot compost chicks. Hot chicks are into shopping and working out...

You need to strike the fear of God into this prick. You need to meet him by yourself. You need to set him straight in the matter. If he won't have it, you need to kick the shite out of him.

if you want to stay with this girl you need to control the weekend outings. plan all of the get togethers... plan them with YOUR guy friends and HER girlfriends. Do double dates with other people. Or just plan stuff together just the two of you alone somewhere. basically anything to isolate her from this d-bag.

as well. If I can somehow (without sound bitter) extract whether or not they fricked, than I could then (at a later date) say "listen, I don't bring you around my past lovers or hookups and I'd rather you not bring me around yours." But I think that it's better to just act unphased from here on out and instead work to minimize the times we hang with them until me and her are in a better/more solid place.
Now you've got it.

If you really care for her, try to minimize the time spent with him. If she really cares for you, then she should have no problem with it.

Quit using terms like alpha and beta. Honestly, you need to control emotions. Be as apathetic as possible right now.

you have to what? you don't have to do anything. you can control this show, but you're not for whatever reason. Tell the GF that you want to spend more time together as a couple.

You sound like a complete douche, stop being so insecure and buy the guy a beer and try and be friends with him. Sorry he isn't going out of his way to include the new guy sitting in the corner brooding into the conversation
If you are a dude fitting in with the friends of your gf shouldn't be difficult, I will lay the steps out for you in a easy to follow chart that you can write on your hand the next time you go
1. Be more confident about yourself
2. Be friendly to new guys
3. Buy beers
4. Begin drinking beers in a jovial manner
5. Discuss current sporting event topics with said guys
6. Repeat steps 3-5

It's just my opinion, but if they've only been exclusive for 2 weeks, then it's disrespectful. I mean, it's a new relationship...she should want to spend more time with him.

Also, you need to learn how to be a calculated human being.
You need to become a sociopath in this situation.
If necessary, you must be willing to destroy his status. Get him fired, out him or something.
She must never know about it though.
No matter what enyone has told you, we are still animals with thousands of years of evolution controlling this shite. This is the jungle my friend, and you need to kick the silverback out of the group.
