With the rise of social media reputation ratings, being a dick will benefit people less and less as time goes by.

Yes.
There are plenty of people whose natural dickish tendencies have helped them rise to the top, and a large percentage of those people are happy because they either don't see themselves as horrible human beings or do but couldn't care less.
Also, some people are just born into wealth and power, which more or less insulates them from the consequences of being a dick to everyone.
