y'all just stay out the left lane and we'll all be fine.

If only that was all that was ailing the BR.

Driving in Miami is worse. I promise you. My God. It's just a nightmare.

Because Troop A has given up on the Interstate system here. They would rather plan trips to Vegas.

Inspection stickers are not about safe vehicles; they're about revenue. The state legislature has told us this.

Living out of state for 3 years now, i look back and see that too.

Is there something about the closed off walled up attitude of BR?

You don’t want to know how many crazy drunk drivers there are on the interstate at night from Kenner to Gonzales.

Plenty of pick up trucks in the right lane doing 55 mph while swerving side to side. Where are the state police ? Or you are in the right lane doing 70 mph and some suburban vehicle lives in the left lane riding side by side with you for some unknown reason.

Aggressive driving. When I was there in the late 90s you had to drive super aggressive if you wanted to go anywhere in heavy traffic with no turn lights or turn lanes and lots of 2 lane major thoroughfares. I think they’ve addressed some of that but maybe it’s a vestigial style of driving. I still drive like I’m a stunt driver because that’s how I learned in Baton Rouge.

It’s directly related to the number of mustangs, Camaros, Chargers, challengers, and Altimas on the road. Baton Rouge has the highest per capita rate of all of those vehicles.

What do all the vehicles have in common?

There are more vehicles on the roads here than the infrastructure can handle

There aren't enough alternate routes

Varying speeds / efforts of drivers. Some want to go 15 under in the left lane while some want to drive 85

Distracted drivers. Way too much attention paid to cell phones

BR gets a lot of rain

Poor drivers. No turn signals. Complete stops before turning. I mean, lazy and untrained.

Tons of work and utility trucks and guys pulling trailers

Add all of these together and traffic in this metro area is a nightmare. Every day.

Both of these. And combine that with bad drivers and bad weather.

Also highest per capita rate of Ford F-250 drivers. They aren't splitting the atom either....
