Situation: You are traveling from downtown towards Indepedence park and you take a right onto Jefferson

You have your own lane when you turn and there is one of those yellow signs that indicate you have your own lane but right after that sign there is a yield sign.

Do these two signs no contradict each other?

I usually just go if I'm making the right onto Jefferson, there's a mini barricade between the lanes before the yield sign so it really doesn't make any sense

I would assume it is to allow people who have turned left onto Jefferson from the opposite flow on Government to be able to turn right into the businesses directly after the merge. That would avoid one person needing to turn right holding up traffic into Government.

Yeah, i dont yield. But i just find it odd for the yield sign to be there.

Unless it's indicating something i havent thought of yet.

that's plausible enough.

Maybe the yield sign is left over from a previous intersection layout?

Doesn't make any sense as it is now.

Plausible enough for a downvote apparently. It's the only thing I could think of. Not sure what the actual traffic numbers are like at that intersection though.

I pass there every day, and don't really see the need for the yield. Doesn't make much sense to me.

That makes sense.
