I maybe making a mistake. This little red truck maybe pretty rare. I’ve only found one on eBay
Not sure what it sold for, the seller took an offer. He was asking $225

I’m just talking about the flights and hotel, not the entire trip. I figured $200 a night hotel ($2000) and $4000-$6000 for the flights, which is not out of the question.

AT, I'm very interested in the WWII German Helmet. Actually, I think it's post WWII, but still, would love to have it.
Do I just make you an offer here, or what would I need to do? Assuming you still have it.

According to WW2Collector (a member here), he thinks it’s pre-WW2. I don’t know, I’m pretty ignorant on this stuff.
I’m not suppose to do business here.
You can email me (screen name at yahoo).

The Yen is very weak right now. Japan is actually a very inexpensive trip. Nice hotels are $200 a night, decent hotels are $100 a night. My wife has no problem staying at “Day’s Inn” $100 level hotels. She just wants a clean room, not in the hood.
For $200 a night, you can stay in near luxury in Japan.
I’ve seen hotels that are $50 a night. Granted my wife probably would stay there, but I would.
For example:
$229 a night (this was just a quick search, just imagine if you study for the trip)

Re the mortar
The company made porcelain for bathrooms. That really reduces the possibility of their having the stone working materials to cut and shape and smooth granite. And they weren't going to carve the company name into granite.
I doubt "granite" was the name of a line of their ceramics but who knows with New Jersey.

The trailer makes a difference. The Walgreen trailer is rarer than the Burlington.
I didn't look at that listing but $150 might be a better starting point.

I have it set at $100 because the two that sold, one went for $125 and other for $65, but neither had the little red truck.

I'm going to pull a pawn starts and ask my Marx expert (the number one expert in the country) about the red truck.

Come to find out (someone msg thru eBay), the damn engine was cracked on the nose. I never saw it. I took a $50 offer. It basically pays for the entire lot of train stuff I bought.

I talked to the foremost postwar Marx expert - I've bought Marx from this guy and he's bought Marx from me. He has a fantastic collection. He said that the red trucks are the most common. The order of go, from most common to most rare, is red, blue, black then gray.

Those locomotives are subject to cracks and broken steps. I've opened master cartons that contain two of those locomotives (in various road names) and found out that the train had a crack.

Sold the German police helmet for $125 in person.
Equivalent to selling it for $150 on eBay.
So between the helmet and the train, I’m up $8 on everything I bought yesterday (spent $160). So everything else is all profit.

Model trains are not my field of expertise, even though I consider myself a vintage toy expert. I do know that vintage Marx trains aren’t even in the same class as vintage Lionel trains. I see Marx trains quite a bit, and pass on the 99% of the time.
