Definitely release into the wild. Foreign species usually just take the jobs that the indigenous animals don't want anyway

You can probably give it back to the store. Afterall, they get to sell it again if it survives the swap.

Had an Uncle in West Monroe that used to breed his betta's and sell them to the store. All his breeding setup was: a 2.5 gallon tank with a couple of plastic partitions; several glass globes.

The female spent most of her time in his tank of guppies and mollies. He'd do the breeding for trade mostly, baby betta's for new main tank fish, sometimes a few bucks cash in his pocket. Store loved it since they got free betta's to sell and got rid of slow selling other fish to my Uncle.

Be a man. Take it to the nearest Chinese restaurant that has those big arse fish tanks with fish eating fish in it and throw it in the tank

There's a poster who will feed it to his son.

I forget his screen name. Just search for "coy".

Seriously though, Jones would probably know what to do with it. I just googled those and they're really sharp looking fish.

Was this a source of income for him or just a hobby?

Just a hobby.

1st time breeding was just to see if he could. Then he had all those baby betta and called the little shop who told him bring them on in as their last shipment was ill/short anyway. He gave away to the store more than they ever bought or traded him for.

ETA: In college I used to buy the little, at that time, $1/each Angel fish from Wally World, take them back for $5 trade value after they were as big as palm of my hand. Kept my 30 gall full of angels and assorted others that way cheap. (I had 7 tanks in my gf's mobile home lol. All started with winning her a goldfish in a globe at a fair )

DON'T EVER RELEASE PET FISH INTO THE WILD. Your opinion is not responsible at all. Don't you see what happened to Everglades with snakes? Certain species can take over areas. It's obvious you don't know what your are talking about.
