Thasks for the info. I'm not wanting to sell it. I'm going to frame it and keep it in the family.
As a liberty bond poster, this was given as you bought bonds or was it soliciting bonds?

I think, and could certainly be wrong, that was a reward for reaching a certain level.

Represents the U-boat raids on shipping channels at the time. The merchant marine was pretty helpless until late 1943/44 when our destroyers started convoying merchant ships.

could be both, more likely this was for someone who bought bonds as it does not mention the bonds on them. The one soliciting bonds generally directly call for assistance.
This kind of poster was for people to hang up so when other came over they saw that said person bought bonds.
It's a good one because it's a well know artist for ww2 propaganda yet it is not common.
You have the right idea, hang it up and frame it. 75 years ago a family member of your was likely proud of buying war bonds and kept it around.

I've read about and collected WWII stuff for 25 years and I've never seen one like that before.

If you are in the area, you might want to have it looked at by someone at the WWII Museum in New Orleans.

I'm in Lake Charles, but I may do that in the future. Thanks for the idea.

I would assume that is the Lusitania. 128 Americans died on the ship in 1915. Given that Germany was the enemy in both wars, and the fact that it looks like the Titantic, (sank three years earlier) I would say the propaganda was to remind Americans of vengeance from 25 years earlier
