Johnny had 3 RBI's last night vs Johnny had 3 RBI last night?

The way I see it, the acrynonm 'RBI' has morphed into a noun over time due to it being such a common and used term

technically RBI would be correct, but i've always said RBI's

The meaning has switched to be singular so today it's RBIs
