If the court order says she gets the car in the divorce and that she will pay the note, then he can rule her in for contempt for failure to pay the note.

I contend that there are just as many worthless mothers out there as there are fathers. It's a shame the courts almost always side in the woman's favor

He seriously needs to get a new lawyer if they let that slip, that's ridic.
This is what I would do, go buy a $500 car and leave the keys in it. Go repo your car, catch up the notes, and sell it.
