This is a spinoff of the 64yo woman WYHI thread.....

I was at a party in BR in the spring of 1997. I was 25 years old and dating a girl from BR at the time. Anyhow, there was a woman there I will never forget. I would guess she was in her 60s at the time. White hair. Brilliant blue eyes. One of the most elegant and beautiful women I have ever met before or since.

Don't remember her name, except that she was a Law School professor at LSU. Anyone know who I could be thinking about?

Shouldn't you be eliminating your deer population this morning?

Probably Katherine Spaht. She's legendary. Single handedly changed Louisiana's community property laws in the '70s.

Man, I've got everyone out on stands. I'm back at the house in front of a fire. My kids are asleep inside. Enjoying a beautiful morning with some peace and quiet before another round of chaos begins!

She used to write letters to the editor trying to rally support to keep forced heirship (which thankfully went away), then she was a big champion for covenant marriages.

I know only one couple who got a covenant marriage. They are now divorced nonetheless.

Maybe....at first I was thinking definitely. But Spaht was born in 1948. Which means she would only have been 49 when I met her. I'm guessing the lady I met was older. But if she is the consensus of the OT, then I'm gonna go with it. OT is the final word on most things of this nature.

yeah, that's an uncommonly stupid law. My wife and I are pretty religious and honestly would have done it, but it's such a pain we decided not to. It's basically a totally superfluous law because nobody goes into a marriage expecting to get divorced.

Thing is, if you're committed to your religious ideals, such a civil law should seem pointless. Your faith should be enough to cover your vows. In other words, yes it's a stupid law. I've never even known of anyone to invoke it.

Probably Katherine Spaht - very attractive - however her white hair was pretty shorty in the late 1990's.

LOL I doubt she was kind of old in 1990 when I was there and kind of uptight

Her hair was very short, and so silver it was almost white in 1997. She had a very graceful presence about her. Commanded the room without trying too hard. Very beautiful and dignified lady.

I remember when she had a heart problem one of her arse kissing students circulated a get well card for the class to sign.

One student wrote on the card they were surprised to hear she had a heart.
